I want to reformat my Hard Drive and reinstall Windows XP Pro

as its corrupt and then reinstall my programs.

It may be too late for this time, but will suggest you get Acronis True Image for the future. Install Acronis, take image backup of your system on a pre-defined regular basis. Any time you run into trouble, you can revert back to pre-error status without the hassle of having to re-install MS Windows and other programs.

You can backup your DATA files, but you surely will need to re-install all other programs after re-formatting your hard disk. Good luck.

No, you can save all your files created by the programs you have, but once you format you need to reinstall everything from scratch starting with the m/board drivers
