Yeah, I've got a legit XP home CD-KEY, but my actual disk broke. However I do have a good XP pro CD, can I use my pro CD to install windows on my computer and then use my home CD-KEY to activate it?
Does an XP home CD-KEY work with XP pro CD?windows vista ultimate

No, it will not work, after 30 days the OS will be unusable.
It won't work... : ( you have to have a windows xp pro cd-key to register with windows xp pro. So a windows xp home cd-key won't work with windows xp pro
No it will not.
This is the same for a volume license also. If you have a volume license for XP Pro and try to install it on a store bought or OEM copy it will not work.
It would be the same as using a Windows 98 Key on a Windows XP Home OS.
You wont even be able to install the pro using the home key let alone activate it. In fact even if you use another home CD it still wont install. All product keys are unique to the CD they came with.
