my dad bought a second hand computer which had windows xp installed on it, but ever since he's tried to use it it keeps coming up with the error message that windows xp is not a genuine copy, we where able to contact the person who sold it to him and he gave us the correct cd key numbers, i tried to install xp again for him entering the correct key numbers etc and everything was going fine untill i got to the windows setup part and it asked me to put the microsoft office proffesional cd into the machine but we dont have it, i tried to put microsoft office2000 premium in instead but it wouldnt accept it, ive also started again and tried to skip that part but it doesnt matter how many attempts i make it just wont complete the installation without the office pro, has any body got any ideas how i can achieve the xp installation without office pro or is there any free download site where i could get a copy. Please excuse my lack of computer knowledge, thanks for any help you can give me.
Question related to installing windows xp?windows media player 10
Are you doing a manual install (going into BIOS and setting cd drive to 1st boot priority, paritioning and formatting the dirves manually and then installing from the cd?) or are you using some sort of restore software? its easy to do through manual install but theres alot of steps to it let me know iff you want to go through it
