I have an AVI file and i want to know how to play with Real Player or Windows Media Player?

I am using windows XP Pro with Windows Media Player 10 and real player 10. All i get is the sound but not the image. Real player tries to download the codecs but doesn't find any and windows media player doesn't even try to look ofr codecs. Help please

It runs well in real player and/or windows media player. Please try running some other avi files by locating them thru search utility.
install vlc media player it has its own codecs. it will play practically anything. if vlc can't play it, it's probably corrupt or otherwise unplayable.
