I have a faulty Esc Key on the laptop keyboard which automatically closes the open windows of applic

This causes the laptop to work erratically. Is there any method to disable the Escape (Esc) Key and assign the function to any other key? I tried disabling the Touchpad, which didn't prove to be any good.

A true fix would only be to replace the keyboard in the laptop. This is a do-it-yourself project, after ordering/receiving the correct replacement keyboard. If you are not confident in doing the replacement yourself, then you will have to pay for the repair.

I can't recommend that you destroy the escape key, which you could; since then it would not function and there is no guarantee that it would end the problem.
