Ok i have repaired a laptop and i have to re-install windows is it illegal to use the same key for it?microsoft word 2003

the same key can be used multiple times, so long as it is used on only 1 computer at once. It is illegal if the same key is used to activate 2 computers at the same time.

Ok i have repaired a laptop and i have to re-install windows is it illegal to use the same key for it?internet explorer 6 internet explorer

hmmm

was this the same key programmed into the repaired laptop before it broke?
Use the same key that was previously on it and you will be fine.
I think it's protocol to use a key, then get to internet to activate, but I'm not sure. If you have difficulty, they give you a number to call and explain, and MS is reasonable about listening to your reason for re-install and giving you a code %26lt;/run-on sentence%26gt;
no
Your key is licensed to your laptop, so you are supposed to use it whenever you install on that system.

Borrowing a disc is fine as long as it it the same Windows XP (Home or Pro, retail or OEM, upgrade or full).

If you changed enough hardware in repairing your laptop you might have to activate over the phone. No big deal.
