I just bought a new desk top computer and it came loaded with Windows Vista Premium. I do not like the Windows Vista. What would be the best way to replace it with Windows XP Pro?

Make it sure that you recieved a driver CD for your desktop. Get Windows Xp Pro and insert it into CD drive, then boot the computer from CD Drive and install Windows Xp. It'll remove Vista and if your had disk drive have restore partition, you gotta be careful not to delete that (you may need it in future if you wanna upgrade to Vista). After installing Xp install drivers and then the programs that you may need like antivirus office etc.

Good luck!
could be the program to try. but you may run into an audio problem .

the computer might not support windows xp audio some do and some dont

iam not an expert on it but i do know that some windows

vista computers dont support xp
The first thing to do is find XP drivers for every single piece of hardware in the computer and burn them to disc. This is critical. If you don't do this you may end up with a brand new paperweight. XP is 8 years old and doesn't have built in drivers for a lot of hardware, so you need to gather them yourself.

Next, purchase a copy of XP. Make sure it's the full version, not an upgrade. It will cost around $150 or so.

Once you have the new OS, insert the disc in the drive and reboot your machine. You will need to format your hard drive, which will completely destroy all data on it. This is the point of no return. If you don't have, for example, XP drivers for your hard drive controller, XP will insist that you don't have a hard drive and it cannot install. You'll have to pay someone a few hundred dollars to fix it if this happens. Keep in mind that you will also lose all applications that came installed on the PC. But once you've formatted the drive, follow the instructions on screen to install XP. It's easy, assuming you have drivers and the hardware is supported.
