Windows vista upgrade...?

i want to revamp my desktop, im thinking about getting a dual core 64 bit cpu and motherboard. i have windows xp x64 pro that i have for my laptop.

can i use that version of windows to start on my desktop and just buy the vista upgrade, and avoid buying the whole vista operating system?

Windows vista upgrade...?microsoft word 2003

you can only have one copy to one computer.. you will have to register the new installation with Microsoft, and that will be your problem. you can't have the same version license on two computers,xp phones home everytime your on the net. and what will happen is ms will send you a update, that will crash one system,

Now what do you do ...have a look at Linux.. Linux is far more advanced than MS in the 32-64 bit system, it is free to download and free to put on any number of computers, it comes with all the software you will ever need also free.

you can download the live cd/dvd version boot up your system and run everything from the cd/dvd, without installing it. test drive it as long as ou want then install it at a later date if you so wish. there are several versions of linux all free to download, so you can test them all out see which one you like the best if any..

to understand what I mean goto youtube.com and do a search for linux v window vista view all the video clips.

Windows vista upgrade...?internet explorer 6 internet explorer

Yes, you can purchase the upgrade licence.
VISTA SUCKS

stick with XP

trust me...
hopefully you will get A LOT of responses to your question that will tell you to stay with XP for now. Trust me I work with computers and you want to wait. Let Microsoft fix all of the major-major mistakes and release their Service Pack 1. Then let them attend to their other major mistakes. After they are done then consider buying Vista.

I would say upgrade your system for Vista, but stay with XP for now
