How to fix XP Pro installation problem?

Whenever I try to install XP Pro 32 bit, I receive a message that there is an unknown hard disk and therefore it fails to show me my partition that i have on C: drive. I'm sure that it's formatted correctly and it is my primary partition. I have around 150 gigs on it, so I don't know why it isn't working. Basically my partition is recognized when I look at the Disk Manager in Windows, but when I start up the installation from the disk, it doesn't detect any partition for me to use in order to install my OS.

I recently installed XP Pro 64 bit but I decided to go back to 32 bit with a clean installation. Hopefully there is something I can do to fix this problem. Also I tried checking to make sure the partition is active.

Well the HDD is probably using a SATA interface which Xp 32-bit version (until SP2) doesn't recognise. You can either install the S-ATA driver from the recovery console when booting the live cd, or more easily integrate SP2 within the installation CD (because you'll definetly have to do this afterwards). Use nLite for this.
