I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600, the CD-drive doesn't work anymore.
It has a 3.5 Floppy drive and USB ports.
It cannot boot from USB.
It is connected to a network with another notebook with a working CD-drive
Now I need to install Windows XP on the notebook, but how??
Install windows XP on Notebook without CD-ROM?ie tab
First you need the CD and both the computers on the same network. You want to create a share of the cdrom drive of the notebook with the working drive by right clicking -%26gt; properties -%26gt; sharing tab. Don't forget to check your firewalls and restart. Then throw in your windows cd.
On the other computer find the share and either run the setup file on the cd or the autoplay. It will take longer since it needs to pull information across the network but it should work as long as everything setup correctly.
Install windows XP on Notebook without CD-ROM?windows mobile internet explorer
buy cd drive.
1. you need to press f10 when u switch on your notebook then try to find for the boot option..
2. or you can try press f7-f12 to find the boot menu option..
from there you can find option boot from network, cd rom, usb, floppy all..enable it and insert your usb..
good luck!!
